I was just wondering why it was that the pre dread gun stats in CoD are higher for the same ships than they are in RotB, when armor values stay about the same...confused. thanks, ~Joe

Just by way of example, the HMS Lord Nelson in RotB has a pen of 5 and a damage of 5 for it's 12" guns, however in CoD the same guns have pen 9 and a damage of 6. Very confused by this.

Naval Thunder was originally designed to be normalized on WWI era combat as a baseline.
Popular demand drove us to release the pre-dreadnought versions.
There was considerable evolution in armor, shell design, and fire control systems between 1895 and 1916. So while the stats look similar, the underlying math used to derive them are different.
The stats are designed to "play well" withing their own eras, but while you could probably do "crossover" games between Rise of the Battleship and Clash of Dreadnoughts. . . the baseline used for each system is different. Which is why you see ships statted one way in RotB, and another in CoD.
