I'm writing this during an eclipse... ;D
It's been too long since my last post...
I don't know how good this is going to be - always finding new information - isn't the better always the enemy of the good?
The usual disclaimers apply - these are always works in progress....
My sources include:
Breyer – Battleships and Battlecruisers, 1905 – 1970. (1974 reprint)
Raven & Roberts – British Battleships of World War II. (1976)
Conway's – All the World's Fighting Ships 1906 - 1921. (1997 reprint)
Gibbons – The Complete Encyclopedia of Battleships and Battlecruisers. (1983)
Warship Volume I. (1984 reprint) (Washington's Cherry Trees)
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N3_class_battleship
I have given this class a relatively equivalent AA outfit as to contemporary WWII ships - at some point a CoD entry may occur...
One problem that was foreseen (after all, this class was never built) was the blast effects from the 18" main guns on the decking and superstructure- is it reasonable to hypothesize that this would have been remedied?
