Hello, I thinking of purchasing the game and was wondering a few things.
1) Does the game use a point based system? For example you would play a set number ov points per side with various ships being a certain point value?
2) Are carriers effective?
3) Are different ships in the same class different movement and turning stats? For example does the Yamato move and turn at the same rate as the French battleships which were faster?
Thank you for your Time.

1. Yes, there is a point system and fleet construction rules.
2. Absolutely.
3. Ship performance is based on actual historical speed of the ship in 4 knot increments. So if there is at least 4 knots of difference between ships, then yes there is a maneuverability difference between the two ships.

I can tell you that in the first game I played, as the Japanese, the American airstrike crippled one Nachi-class cruiser before the gunfight even began. It had to be left out of the gun battle. And my Aoba went into battle with 1/3 of its hull points from the same airstrike - but unlike the Nachi, it could still move and fire at full ability (it just sank easily when shot).
