I was finally able to read through the rules last night and I've got some questions and spotted some typos/discrepancies.
I thought I'd create this thread so others can chime in with their questions as well and Harry can give some official answers.
01. Roles - Battleline - does it stil receive +2 DC? No data cards with the role reflect this.
02. Roles - RDF - does the extra turn apply at all (such as may do a 2-hex turn once per movement phase), or is it not used with inertialess/MPs?
03. Roles - Defender - does the double regen apply after limiting regen to 2x size class, or not used at all (there were no Defenders in the data cards to check)?
04. Weapons - Linked Weapon Systems - the nomenclature mentioned in the rules differs from that implemented on the data cards. Also, how do LWS interact with hardpoint limits? Per the rules, the weapon itself is a 2L/3L/4L with a number of 1. If the ship is size class 3, can it have a quad-linked weapon? Can it have just one, or could it then take up to 3 4L turrets? Can a size 1 have a 2L (the data cards do)? Can a hardpoint have just one LWS, or could I for example put 2x2L on a size 4/5 hardpoint?
What I'm really getting at is this - is the size-based weapon limit for the hardpoint applied to the total number of weapons, e.g. a 4L counts as 4 weapons towards the limit, or is the limit based on turrets, e.g. a 4L counts as 1 so a size 3 could have 3x2L/3L/4L if it chooses?
Also, if the rules nomenclature is correct vs the data card, does this mean a single crit on a LWS takes the entire LWS out for the rest of the game (unless we can do 2x2L on a size 4+ as asked above)?
I guess the LWS is just a little unclear to me, so some more detail would be welcome.
05. Fighters - since this is based off core rules, fighters are range-limited by broadcast power (12/24) and not independent like MvM, correct?
06. Data Cards - Thermopylae - discrepancy as noted on its LWS. The nomenclature per the rules should be '2L Proton Accelerator' under WEAPONS and 1 under Num. Also, the Proton Accelerator is not compact, so this goes along with question 4 about how the size 1 ship can have 2L?
07. Data Cards - Republic - no damage control bonus listed for Battleline role? Just confirming question
08. Data Cards - Senator Thalmus - like Thermopylae, has a 2L turret on a size 1 and nomenclature that differs from stated rules.
09. Data Cards - Empire's Hand - no damage control bonus listed for Battleline role?
10. Data Cards - People's Justice - no damage control bonus listed for Battleline role?
11. Data Cards - Emperor's Might - no damage control bonus listed for Battleline role?
12. Data Cards - Zergling - listed as DDF instead of DDR.
13. Bridge/Engine Crits - these just leave the ship sitting motionless, unable to spend MPs?
Overall, I love the new rules. Spinal mounts are going to be extremely fun. Can't wait to get this to the table!
