And for my 250th post...
This class was projected, but never got beyond the drawing board – other circumstances dictated that more
escort vessels and newer light cruisers took higher priority. And Churchill stuck his oar in asking if a
cruiser with 9.2 inch guns was feasible (it wasn't). The Shipbuilding Committee pretty much said NO!
straight away...The projected gun design had a design range of about 1000 yards more than the 8” Mk VIII.
It appears that the protection was meant to be on a par with the Belfast, so I'm using that as a start point.
The design seems to have evolved from just before the war, until it was effectively cancelled in 1942, for
the above reason. The specifications from the sources appear to me contradictory at times, and are to me
confusing, so I am using what appears to me to be the final design specs before cancellation.
There isn't much about this class on the interweb thingy – not even Google has much...
These are the 1941 design stats as per Moore and Friedman. It could be described as being like a smaller
version of the KGV class. If anyone can post or send a link of the projected appearance (crediting
the proper source), that would be much appreciated... but try this site... (when you look at the cruiser folder,
click on Fig. 4)

If anybody has better information, I certainly would revisit these stats...
Here goes....
