These stats are for the Maya only (in her heavy AA cruiser configuration), from April 1944 until her loss. During the refit / repairs from December 1943, C turret was removed, and increased AA armament (up to 66 x 25mm) fitted. Ironically, she was sunk by submarine – (USS Dace) on 23 October 1944, in the Palawan Passage, in the lead up to the Battle of Leyte Gulf. What is everyone’s opinion on the AA value – is it too high?
