Here are my house rules for playing with aircraft miniatures on the table. largely based on the "Second World War at Sea" series, Tested only once, but worked very well.

Looks good. I made rules for this as well, just to see how it worked out. While similar, mine are a little different. It definitely adds a level of tactics to the game.

Sorry for the delay in this, also I don't have the rules we have tried ready yet. Making some adjustments.
Very close to yours. Fighters: 10+ to hit, 20 inches of movement Dive Bomber: 9+ to hit, 20 inches of movement Torpedo Bomber: 8+ to hit, 18 inches of movement Level Bomber: 8+ (we are not sure if people will use these in our area, so this number is in the air) to hit, 16 inches of movement Recon: 10+ to hit, 20 inches of movement
Flights move after DD. A CV can launch as many flights as it has Flt Ops per turn.
We gave a Flight 4 planes/HP and work with Full or Half Flights
AA has a range band: S 4"(-1 to hit) M 8"(base to hit number) L 12"(+1 to hit) X 16"(+2 to hit). Also AA is divided by arc (not sure how accurate this is but it balanced things more)
Flight to flight combat uses the AA to hit numbers. Flights can attack other flights that they are within 3" of. Fighters get 3( half flights get 2) dice, Dive and Torpedo Bombers get 1, and Level bombers get 3(half flights get 2). Recon get none. Each hit deals one point of HP damage.
Flight to ship combat is the same damage wise. Fighters get 1 die, Torpedo Bomber and DIve bombers get 2 (1 for half flights), Level Bombers get 4 (2 for half flights). Fighter, Dive bomber and Level bomber Flights may attack ships within 3" of them with a +1 to hit modifier. Torpedo bomber have ranges, S 3"(+1 to hit), M 6"(+2 to hit) and L 9"(+3 to hit) no extreme range. Again, all damage is the same as in the core rules for this part. Torpedo, dive and level bombers only get to attack 1 ship when they have launched, they must land to reload. Fighters can stay in the air.
That's our way, roughly. We have toyed with the idea of a max flight(turns in the air) time for the flights to represent fuel. That or distance they can travel from their parent CV. It is still something we are adjusting to play with and add a different level to the game.

Interesting, gave me some good ideas. This monday we began the Coral sea campaign, SWWAS for the strategic scope, NT for the tactical. The crossover screeched a bit on the air, I´ll try some of your approaches to fix it.
