Hi All, I've just registered here, having bought Clash of Dreadnoughts and Dreadnought Battlefleets, so that I can return to WW1 naval gaming after a sojourn of nearly 20 years.
This afternoon I thought I would learn the rules by solitaire gaming a scenario that was generated during a 1914 Baltic campaign that I ran back in the day. One of the German divisions is made up of four Wittlesbach Battleships, but I cannot find any data for them in the rules? Is it missing, or am I missing something? Any help would be much appreciated. TIA.
ATB Chris

Welcome,
Sounds like a great scenario. Good news, the data exists. As they are older predreadnaughts you will find them in Rise of the Battleships 2 supplement.
I own all the NT supplements and have gamed SPAN AM war through WWII. Getting the bundles are worth it.
HTH,
Aaron

Thank you Aaron, it does help. Got to say, having already paid for two books in order to play WW1 games, it is disappointing to hear that I need to open my wallet again to get the data for the predreads that fought during the Great War. It is shame that the data, for those that did, wasn't included in the WW1 books as well. But I guess the authors need to make some money out of it in whatever way they can.

Keep in mind that it was not all published ar once. I think Harry tried to include the first rate capital ships and most played scenarios units when he first did COD. RoTB only includes Russo-japanesse while RoBT2 includes SPAN-AM and many of the other missing units some of which were still around in WWI. I bought them all as released and paid initial retail price and do not regret it. I always encourage new players to take advantage of the bundles if they can. ALL IN ALL A vert reasonably priced rules package wspecially considering you get free updates as they come along. If you do find something truly missing check the shipyard. People have posted stats there. Not sure if there will be more releases, I could see one more supplement with all missing units and many of the planned, but never built ships. Have fun! Aaron

Thanks again Aaron, for your help and thoughts. I'd have bought the bigger bundle if I had been aware that some of the ships that served during WW1 were in the predred' books. I'll be getting them shortly. I've never gamed any 1880/90/00s campaigns, historical or what-if, so I might well do that in the future. Good excuse for more models and books ;-)
I've now played a couple of solitaire WT engagements and really like it so far. Just now a question of convincing my local opponents that the rules are better than VaS, a set which they seem to be wedded to <rolls eyes>.

I started with WWII and then moved into WWI and Pre-Dreads. Be careful I found the Pre-dreads the most addictive. They are true gun battles and the ranges are crazy close. I used Panzerschiffe for most of my pre-dreads....very affordable and with a little work (adding masts) look pretty nice. Now there are even nicer 3D print models available from Wartimes Journal that are still affordable. Here is a link to my Blog where I captured some of my NT projects. rallyroundtheflag.blogspot.com/search/label/Naval Thunder If you check out the other forums you can also find some great resources. Not as active as it once was, but I still try to visit periodically. While Harry did a great job, keep in mind he is more or less a one man show with a small team of helpers and this was mostly a side job unlike some game companies that do it full time. He is still a great resource and I had the opportunity to play NT with him a few years ago. For what it is I think NT is amazing compared to some like VAS considering the support and data sheets that are provided. Although not as active it is still a very freindly and helpful community. Don't hesitate to ask questions or even PM other members. Aaron

for some reason this place seems to have died out a lot and the pre dreads are what got me into the game and it was the russo japan war that started me on naval thunder with the 1/1000 scale huston ships that i picked up for a few games.

Harry needs to put out something to re-spark interest again.

yes, if nothing else, there is the idea of gathering all the ships that have been put on here as a gathering of ships for everyone so that we do not have to dig though this place for all the ships.
