I picked up some ScandFed vessels from GZG and am working on building stats for them. The first up is the Peder Skram Class Battlecruiser. Updated based on input

Looks cool. Not much for shields or AV. That a particular design decision?
Interested in seeing the others!

Doesn't pack many weapons either for that size. The 2 Delta really eats the points. You might go RDF and a bit more defence or weapons.

Given that the FT universe is primarily beam weapons capping armour at 5 makes sense otherwise laser weapons are very limited, the only D10 penetration weapons should be Pulse Torpedoes (here represented by Plasma Torps but proton torps work as a lighter weight option) and Grasers (Disruptors are a good fit ). Of course once you get the Kra'vak involved they have rail guns and heavier armour. I also allow the NSL to go to armour 6 since they don't use shields. So I'd say its a good match for my FT designs which I hope to post after a bit of playtesting this coming weekend (NAC vs FSE, Unprepared defense). My one query would be why 4 fire con with only 3 hardpoints that could free up enough mass for another point of shields, perhaps he just wants the range advantage but that doesn't realy mesh with the plasma torps.

The 2 Delta does indeed eat a lot of space but I am trying to stay true to the idea of a BC which is to be a fast, lightly armoured BB.
The Plasma Torpedoes are there because I want a direct fire weapon. I suspect that once I get more experience with the game that I will change it to an ASGM.
The 4 FC is to give it a fire advantage and to also stick to the idea of the BC which is supposed to hit enemies with fire at range.
Making it an RDF role vessel would save space spent on the extra delta but the idea of a BC being able to "turn on a dime" seems a bit contrary to its size. Maybe that is just me not understanding the game mechanics though

well, there's always house ruling RDF ships. Personally I think they're a bit overpowered as writen, but somewhere in this forum there's a suggestion to change RDF from unlimited turns and +1 delta to +1 turns and +1 delta... which means an RDF ship that buys 1 delta can make 3 turns... which we have found to be a lot more reasonable.
And you can still make smaller ships turn like crazy because smaller ships can afford 2 or 3 delta a lot more than BCs can.

The house rule will probably become a real rule in the next rules update.
But in the meantime, remember that a ship may never turn more than 1 hex side in the same hex. It must always move forward a hex between turns. So just wanted to make sure you understood that "unlimited turns"does not mean "turns in place."

I've updated the ship. Made it RDF to get the Delta bonus and added some more forward weaponry and more Turbo Lasers.
Seems beefier and nastier now
