Any ideas for 1:2400 versions of the IJN's Tsukuba & Ikoma (CAs reclassified as BCs)? Most of my fleet is made up of Panzerschiffe...
[modifications below]
I'm already using a couple of King Edward VIIs for my Katori & Kashima.

Panzerschiffe used to make a model of these two, as I made the master (almost 25 years ago). You might contact Panzerschiffe to see even if it is not listed he may still be able to make it. If he says he never had it, I will post photos. Maybe he lost the master and broke the mold.

Greetings all, first time post on the forums, but I wanted to ask, Fastgit, did you contact Panzerschiffe and find out if he could still make the Tsukuba? It's a ship I'd like to get in 1/2400 too.
Thanks!

Thanks! TheGhost Yes and no. I contacted him, but he did not remember ever having such a mold. *shrug* I have not -- to this point -- pursued the matter further... although I would be interested in one.

Pics of the Tsukuba BCs With an Ibuki-class BC So he had the mold at least at one time. I have some Alumilite resin casting material. I will see if I can cast a few if anyone is interested. It should be easy to make as a one piece mold.

I'd be game, is there a certain number of casts you would need to do to make it worth your while?

I have the material, now I just have to figure out how to keep the mold material from getting underneath the master. I will post pics when I have tried it.

It looks like a worthy cause.
Honestly I would try calling panzeschiffe again. Maybe even e-mail them the pic. I have had several conversations with them. He has been at this since the early mid 70s and at times I think it may be a bit ovewhelming to keep track of everything. The pic may jog the memory.
Just a thought.

I'd be interested, certainly. And I agree, an email with a pic may help.

My question to Panzerschiffe:Do you still make the Japanese Navy Tsukuba class Battlecruiser or Large Cruiser? It would be the predecessor to the Ibuki class listed under WWI IJN ships. Attached are pictures of the model. Answer:We make A-147 (Settsu & Kawachi, A-148 (Aki & Satsuma) and A-149 (Ibuki & Kurama)....but no Tsukuba. A Tsukuba could easily be converted from Ibuki.....just remove the 8" turrets and cut a slice out, removing the middle funnel. So they must have lost the master or the mold went bad and was not replaced. In looking at the picture with the Tsukuba and Ibuki, I don't think the conversion will be that easy. So those of you that want one can either do the conversion or I can see if I can cast some.

That is too bad. I would probably follow up with a phone call if you do not want the trouble of making your own. It is obvious thye did have it. I was trying to be PC earlier, but in my dealings with them lately I think they may forget at times. I'm already using a couple of King Edward VIIs for my Katori & Kashima. On a side note Molniya does have the Kashima in their inventory. www.molniyafigs.com/ships.html

Shigure,
I would be willing to purchase some from you if you tried to cast off the master you have. You can PM me a price quote if you'd like.
Thanks,
~Brian
