Minor quibble... Soviet-wise, Kirov was a CA, not a CL...

The distinction between "CA" and "CL" in most games is on size and weight of shot. In WW II, it was really only based on size of rifles. For example, several IJN CAs were built as CLs, with the intent to just swap out the guns when war broke out - which is exactly what they did, upgrading from 6" to 8" rifles in time for the shooting. So you could and did end up with CLs that were bigger and burlier than some CAs - they just had smaller guns. I have a good book, Soviet Warships of the Second World War, by Jurg Meister, circa 1977. It gives the following info on Kirov: Displacement: 8,800 tons (11,500t full load) Dimensions: 626.25 x 59 x 20 feet pp. Machinery: Six Yarrow-Normand boilers; two shafts; geared turbines; 113,000 shp = 35 knts Bunkers and radius: 1,280 tons of oil fuel; 850/3,000 miles at 34/18 knots Protection: Main belt 3-inch (75mm), main deck 2-inch (50mm), turrets 4-inch (100mm) CT 3 inch (75mm). Armament: 8 x 7.1-inch, 6 x 3.9-inch, 5 x 45mm AA guns, 4 x 12.7mm AA mgs, 6 x 21 inch Torpedo Tubes. Initially two aircraft and one catapult. Also 90 mines and 60 depth charges. Complement: 734

If these are lend lease shps wouldn't the US sheets fit? Or did they refit them in the USSR?

Good point. I was thinking of a sheet with the unit's name on it, but I guess that doesn't really matter.

This might suck for you fluorophil but wht if you link to the shipyard design after any ships that have been done? That way someone visiting the website can just come to this post and then link to the ship if it's here?
Also this should probably be stickied as it's a good refernece guide on what has already been worked on.

Hey, if it helps anyone, I'm all for that suggestion! Great idea! I'm not computer savvy enough to do that - I seem to be the caretaker of this post - I definitely don't own it! Harry, can you help here?

It would be great to have the CA HMAS Australia. and Hobart, as I need them for a Coral sea campaign I´m planning using naval thunder to sort out tactical engangements and the SWWAS series rules to the strategic moves.

Harry, can you help here? Just go to the thread with the relevant ship. Copy your browser address bar. Then, in the ship list, go to the spot you want the link to that thread. Click the little planet with the page icon. In the text box you put how you want the link to look. In the URL box you paste what you copied from the address bar. A couple tries you'll have it down no problem.

Harry, can you help here? Sorry, I missed this question earlier. Just go to the thread with the relevant ship. Cntrl-C to copy your browser address bar. You can use HMS Kent for Australia, HMS Leander for Hobart.
Smaller US ships a fair amount of "guesstermatining" on the armour and AA factors.
USS Tangier (AV-8)
Hull 11,760 t = 47 Speed 18.4k = 4.6 rolled up to 5 or down to 4? FC = sTD Move/shoot = Cruiser/Destroyer AV=3 SAV=1 AA/ASW 2/0 Secondary 5"/38 1 [1] S=7 M=14 L=21 X=28 P=2 D=2 - A/P/S
USS Neosho (AO-23)
Hull 7,470t = 30 Speed 18k = 4.5 rolled up to 5 or down to 4? FC=STD Move/shoot = Cruiser/Destroyer AV=1 SAV=1 AA/ASW 1/0 Secondary 5"/38 1 [1] S=7 M=14 L=21 X=28 P=2 D=2 - 2 x f/p/s 1 x p/s 1 x a/p/s
USS Tippecanoe (AO-21)
Hull=5,400t = 22 Speed 11 = 2.75 = 3 FC = STD Move/shoot = Cruiser/Destroyer AV=1 SAV=1 AA/ASW 1/0 Secondary 5"/38 1 [1] S=7 M=14 L=21 X=28 P=2 D=2 1 x f/p/s 1 x a/p/s

Just FYI, the SSD number for the Hobart in the card printing tool is 116 (Perth class) - the Leander class has 2 more hull points, the Hobart class has 2 more AA points, otherwise everything else is the same... Hey Harry, thanks for the advice - much appreciated, I might try that in the not too distant future... Just asking...is there any chance of getting the Card Printing Tool updated by one of the Excel wizards at some point?

That's not a question for me. Try posting on the main NT forum and see if you get any volunteers. I just post what the excel wizards create.
