How do you deploy multiple stealth mines?
1) One at a time? Place one, then roll to see where it ends up, resolve damage then deploy the next one, etc?
or
2) Place all mines where legal, then roll to see where each scatters. If they scatter to an illegal hex, place them back in pool and then resolove damage for any that actually landed on a ship?
Thanks!

We've been playing it as '2' above. And they are evil enough. I can't imagine wanting to let people have 'do-overs' when they scatter off the hex they want to hit...yikes!

LOL...totally agree. Weve been using #2 as well but wanted to see what others thought. My buddy is in love with them...grrrr....

Didn't actually specify in the rules. We used approach #1 but I think #2 might be the better way to go. The solution to stealth mines is just to ensure you've got screening cruisers close by. Then you're pretty much immune to them.

A tad bit of Necromancy here, but it was mostly all I could find in a Search for Mines.
Regarding Proximity Mines:
The rules for Stealth Mines state clearly that you scratch off a set of mines from the SSD (Point #3, p33). Proximity Mines have no such restrictions.
Common sense would dictate that PMs follow all rules and conventions that SMs do, with the only exception being the method of deploying/revealing mines. Example:
My Heavy Cruiser with qty 2 Proximity Mines can deploy one or both mines in any one turn. Once both are deployed, the ship gets no more to deploy, correct?
Is this the case? The ruleset needs to be much clearer on this point.
Also, using the word "purchase" in the second paragraph of page 33 indicates a cost when talking about mines in scenarios. It sounds like the word "allocate" should be used instead, or "alloted" or "given", in that there is no actual COST (you dont have to sacrifice tonnage from your overall fleet to be allowed to deploy these free mines). Is this correct also?

We follow the stealth mine rules as you said above.
In the scenario, I thought you had to spend points on them from your total, because of the word purchase.
