Hey Brigman,
looks like a beast of a ship. I have to admit my Soviet naval knowledge isn't good so I don't have any thoughts or suggestions sorry.
I do seem to vaguely remember reading a while back that the Soviets had problems with there armour? They couldn't make a certain steel or their plants could only make a certain steel which was pretty poor in comparison to the rest of the world, is that true?

The Soviets never successfully made armor of the thickness called for by the Soyuz' design. Of course, the Soyuz was never completed (but was laid down and worked upon), so this is very much a "what if" or "conjectural" ship. Whether the Reds could have pulled it off or not is debatable (and depends on who you ask). Her design parameters would have sported more armor tonnage than Yamato. I nudged the armor down in this design as a nod to the "Russian armor" problem. It's still a beast.
