How exactly would a formation take evasive action?
My interpretation is as follows, please correct this if I am wrong.
1: The lead ship's orders are "EV"; the rest of the formation follows ("F").
2: The ships may move as per evasive action, but must finish their move in the correct formation orientation.

Hey Mate,
welcome to the forums.
What you've written is the way my group plays it. No where does it state that you can't maintain formation and perform evasive manouvres.
We have discussed a house rule about not allowing ships to remain in formation if evading as it seems unlikely they could maintain a formation when making such erratic manouvres but we haven't really come to an agreement on this yet.
Enjoy the game.

Much appreciated. I downloaded the rules a couple of months ago because I'm running a scenario at Historicon, and I have become thoroughly disenchanted with the state of the Victory at Sea rules update.
It also helps that they seem to have written these rules with the 1:1800 scale in mind.
