So in my continuing quest to get a discussion going on this board I have a couple more roles to suggest.
Missile Boat; This was discussed a while ago as an additional destroyer role. The missile boat can launch missiles from multiple hard points using a single fire con. This represents a small ship with externally mounted missiles that will make an attack run and then be mostly harmless once it has fired. The problem is that it could make swarm tactics more dangerous so I decided on a balance effect: if a missile boat takes a hardpoint critical before the missile has been fired the missile explodes, resolve a missile hit against the ship carrying it. This increases the chance of loosing missile boats to long range fire if you attempt to run them into sprint range before firing.
Troopships; another role that has been discussed before, they can carry boarding marines in hardpoints. Once again they can get very scary in numbers so I thought that because they carry landing shuttles instead of assault shuttles the shuttles are destroyed by PD fire on a 6+ instead of a 10+ should help balance things. Because troopships are not full military vessels they are built similarly to fleet auxiliaries on a CA hull with a 40% reduction in available tonnage.
What do people think?

I like the troopship concept a lot. I suggest treating the troops as security forces, or somewhere between security and marines, to reflect that they are most likely ground troops with little experience with zero G and boarding actions.
Not a big fan of the missile boat, simply because I don't like one-shot wonders of any sort.
Can we consolidate the EW role here too? I like that one because I'm a fan of some of the scout role functions but don't always want the stealth.

The troopship shows promise. I'm not a fan of the missile boat, but do like a lot of the ECM role you started.
