Auckland's annual BattleCry convention is coming up on the 15th and 16th of February and I'll be running participation games of Colonial Battlefleet for anyone who would like to try it out.
I'll have a selection of matched fleets from a variety of universes so you can try a traditional match up or cross genres as you desire.
Come along and say hi.

And don't forget entry is free (they cover the cost by charging these who enter the tournament games)

I'm working Saturday afternoon and Sunday night...so I may be able to turn up early Sunday morning...Is it possible to reserve a space for me then? (Rob, I'll try and touch base later this week)...

I'll bring my camera and tripod, as we discussed. Hope to be there early... Harry, I hope that we can get some good photos. It'll be my first game of CBF! Maybe a demo game of NT next year...

A great 2 days at BattleCry, I must have run 8 or 9 demo games. Lots of people stopped at the table to admire the ships and setup and just talk about it and I've added 3 more names to my email list of Auckland spaceship gamers. I also learnt that my star wars designs are underguned, they are probably ok when you have a fleet each side and can combine fire but for 1v1 duels you spend a lot of time just nibbling at each others shields with maybe 3 or 4 points of non penetrating hull damage. The Federation and Klingon forces were well matched and had enough manuverability to make a very enjoyable game with both sides largest ship being destroyed on the same turn. B5 Earthforce vs Narn was also a good matchup but the Blake 7 Liberator had enough tech advantage to wipe the floor with the Narn's, the reactor critical with the first ASGM helped there since it took out the Narn energy mine (SD Toro) armed ship. As far as I can tell I did everything right to post an image so why is it displaying only the links?

It was a fun day...even if I did get pummeled by the dice on turn 3...
