Great looking model. Much larger scale that I used, for WWII at least. Normally 1/6000th. Up a scale for WWI and Pre-Dreads and all the way too 1/600th for ACW.

Well of WWII I use Figure Head ships 1/6000th. I used GQ3 for the period, the ranges can be so big, that I find on the smallest scale gives the right visual impression. I do have some 1/3000th models which I've used for convoy games using Mal Wrights Deadly Water rules. For WWI I have both 1/6000th and 1/3000th models. The 1/3000th are Navwar, Sktrex and Davco. I'm painting Navwar models for Jutland and use NT for the period. For ACW I used 1/600th, models from Peter Pig, Thoroughbred and Bay Area Models, plus a few scratch built models. Most of my time is spend on the Pre Dread period with 1/3000th models mainly from WTJ and Navwar and using NT for most games, or Fire When Ready for smaller vessel actions. A couple of pics of some early WWI Austrians forces.

Oh wow, those are tiny! Superb muniatures Gower, I love little scales as they are cheaper and depict actual naval fire ranges more reallistic. I´d love to play a more detailed set of rules, but they require a level of commitment that I wouldnt find in my gaming mates.

GQ3 and Fire When Ready are not difficult rules sets. I wouldn't call either detailed sets of rules. For ACW we play Sail and Steam Navy which is available at Wargames Vault. It isn't difficult but has a nice feel to it and great ship cards.
