How would you map the different Full Thrust ship classes to CBF's? Colonial Battlefleet: - Battleship
- Battlecruiser
- Heavy cruiser
- Light cruiser
- Destroyer
Full Thrust: (full list included for completion) - Attack Carrier
- Heavy Carrier
- Light Carrier
- Escort Carrier
- Super Dreadnought
- Dreadnought
- Heavy Battleship
- Battleship
- Battlecruiser
- Heavy cruiser
- Patrol or Escort Cruiser
- Light cruiser
- Heavy Destroyer
- Destroyer
- Frigate]
- Corvette
- Scout/Courier
I want to map our NSL, Japanese and Kra'Vak fleets to CBF. But I'm not sure what you would do with the dreadnought class since these ships are BIG. Would you make them battleships and then move the other clases down, so fx battleships are cruisers etc? Or is there a plan for even bigger ships? Or would you just use the different hull values of 80 to 100? Thanks in advance. Mark

Mark, Welcome to CB! What I have done is more or less your suggestion of starting heavy and working down. Don't forget the roles in CB along with the mass/size. So a Super Dreadnought would convert to a heavy BBB or BBD if you want more weight. The cruisers weight is about right as there is a wide range in CA and CL mass. The carriers are a matter of what you put on them. Attack Carrier- 800+ lots of fighters some Mag guns and ASGM missiles Heavy Carrier-900 mass Hvy rail/rail guns guns/fighters Light Carrier-300-400 less guns fighters Mags/Hvy atuos Escort Carrier-250-300 with fighters autos Again, the roles really help make a ship into a class. The escort could be an RDF or Battleline, not only a carrier. The scout and screen roles give you that type of ship for your CLs and DDs. Look over the ships in the back of the rules for other ideas. We would love to see your designs once you finish some up Good Luck!

Yeah, I'd second Warchariot's suggestion.
Start with the biggest ships and work down. Use subdivisions within the CB ship types to map to multiple types of FT ships. Use roles to provide further differentiation.

Let us know what you come up with! This would be information that a lot of people would be interested in. We can even post a conversion guide (size wise) on on the Yahoo group, and even your specific ship designs if you want.
