The last few weeks has seen a resurgence in Naval Thunder. Small group has assembled and I was able to teach 3 others the rules and run several introductory scenarios. With my interest peaked I dug out some of my other fleets including my SPAN-AM pre-dreads. Awhile back I picked up a copy of 1898 which is part of Avalanche Press Great war at Sea collection. Still unpucnched as I am mostly interested in the map and scenario book. If you are familiar with the SPAN-AM war you know the two historical scenarios are pretty lopsided with USN dominating the Spanish. This game has a number of historical what if scenarios. Since I have the complete OoB I have been going through and prepping some to play using ROTB2. First up was the USS Oregon being intercepted by Admiral Cevera Spainsih Squadron. Looking at the data cards my gut told me that the Spanish would likely win. No spoilers, but it was much more balanced than I thought. Played it twice so far with completely different results. Here is the AAR from the first action: rallyroundtheflag.blogspot.com/2020/09/surprise-action-uss-oregon-bb3-1898.html?m=0Enjoy!

Sounds a like a cool fight. I posted some photos in a Facebook group trying to fight out my turn of the century ships to get some use out them from sitting on them from before 2012.
