I still play B5Wars, there are some weapons that target a specific hex versus a ship. In the case of B5Wars the Narn Energy Mine comes to mind, but there were a few others. Basically it was/is a ballistic style weapon that couldn't track/home in on an enemy ship.
You program the weapon to detonate at a specific location instead, IE mark the hex number secretly down, and then wait for ship movement to complete. The opponent knows you fired but will not know where it will end up until after they've moved.
In the case of B5Wars, it was a larger area of effect weapon. X target damage within the hex and Y damage to those in the surrounding hexes (usually about 20/25% of the X damage).

They should be off to one edge, but I'm not sure why you need the numbers other than for set-up? PBEM?

These look pretty sweet. And, as others have mentioned... reasonably priced. Any thoughts on the flight stands...?

How are the rows of hexes oriented on the rectangle of the map? I would want the hex faces to be perpendicular to the long axis, if you catch my drift.

We can orient them both ways. I already did one like you describe for another customer. I'll attach the cut away I sent him. This is the entire width of the map. The short ends are a section of the long sides of the map. Jonathan Bowen CorSec Engineering www.corseceng.comAttachments:

Uploading the file to a new printer now. If it works out then we can start moving on the larger maps. This one is 58" by 108" but you will end up losing some after they hem it. I already have an ocean map 60" wide on its way from yet another printer. I hope to have blue #1 and the others released soon.

Fantastic. Will you have other star backgrounds available, i.e., plain stars?
I also hope you will consider taking payment by means other than Google. I won't use that.

Space mats are available now. $150 each. I tried hard on the price but the finishing process was way more expensive then I wanted it to be. Some new patterns as well. The blue one made the cut and is in the list. Check out the site for details. We didn't get to 60" either. They ended up being 56". I'm trying to get it worked out to go up to 60" but I don't know if that will ever happen. Jonathan Bowen CorSec Engineering Www.corseceng.com

Thanks, the 60 inch would really help, 72 would be even better.

You don't ask for much We are working on 60" now but I have no idea when that will be a reality. 56" will not be available after that. everything will be upgraded to 60". At this time 72" is unrealistic.

I can do 3 inch hexes. I added what I thought was popular. 3 inch is doable. I can make ovals if you wanted The overlays are easy. I can also add coordinates if needed. Just let me know and I'll try to accommodate. I could even print them with your name in the corner. Jonathan Bowen CorSec Engineering www.corseceng.com

We just got in some cloth samples of these maps here at the store I work at (our FLGS already carries some CorSec Engineering products, so I pushed them to check out the mats). The cloth is incredibly thin and flimsy, and maybe it was just me but the colors werent vibrant at all. The concensus was "No way we're ordering these", which was a bit of a downer because I was all hyped by them. I was surprised the cloth wasnt heavier, more felt-like or something, and I was also surprised by the colors. Anyone else have this reaction, or were the samples we received not representative of the real product, and therefore not good samples?

The colors are not as bright as I would like but without almost doubling costs it is not feasible to get deeper blacks which is the problem. That is why we cannot get a basic black star field to work. Here are some great shots of the Red Nebulae #2 in use: forum.spartangames.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=5366.0They look great. Way better then paint flecked felt. The quality of the sample depends on which one you saw. We sent out several and some where old prototypes of Red nebulae #1 with hexes on them. That cloth was not as strong as what we use now. If it was a strip of cloth with several different samples printed side by side then that is the new cloth. It is robust and will hold up. It is the thickness of a good tablecloth. In no way is it even close to the thickness of felt. That was a plus in my book. It lays nice on the table and it will not snag your bases. I hope this clarifies some things and addresses the issues you had with our products. Jonathan Bowen CorSec Engineering www.corseceng.com

60" will soon be a reality. I just got word from the printer and should be in a few weeks. All 56" wide mats will be upgraded to 60" from now on. Costs are going up but we will try to maintain the current price point. We are also working out pricing and details for 4 foot by 6 foot mats. Ground combat patterns are in the works as well. Also check out our new acrylic planet kits. No more Styrofoam balls. Make your planets last! Jonathan Bowen CorSec Engineering www.corseceng.com
