I really liked some of the combat sequences in the Starfire series.
What about adding some type of command data-link rules and then also rules for flagships. When several ship in the data-link shoot at the same target, they would receive a bonus. This would also allow for moral rules and possibly crew skill ratings.

Here’s my thinking with the Command Data Link (CDL) ;
1) The CDL would be placed on any ship filling the ‘Flagship’ role. ‘Flagships’ can be designated to any type or class of ship. The reasoning here is that there maybe militaries who build a ship which only serves the ‘flagship’ role but could not hold its own in a combat situation. 2) If the designated ship is serving as a CDL will now be annotated as either a CDL or a “C” in the Class and Role blocks. 3) The actual CDL will replace one hard point. The ‘#’ given for the CDL will be the number of other ships the flagship can control in the link and should be scaled based on the size of the ship. 4) The CDL uses the FC of all the ships firing at the same target to triangulate a better firing solution and therefore conveys a bonus to hit and damage roles for all weapons being used from the ships in that link.
Thoughts?

Hey Harry,
Here's an idea. How about after you've done Federation Battlefleet, you do a "shipyard" supplement where you pull together all the design rules into one book and do up a new excel design sheet so that we can design with all the goodies together in one place. This might involve renaming some of the stuff (say like fighters) that are currently linked to a particular faction.
