Ok, I finally got off my butt and picked up the rules. I have to say, I am impressed, I've played a handful of other space games, Full Thrust, B5 ACTA, B5wars, With Hostile Intent, Battlefleet Gothic, and finally Colonial Battlefleet. Again, I say I'm impressed, but while CBF will easily replace the faster games like ACTA, it will need a handful of additional changes before it replaces my beloved B5wars or WHI. I'm still working out all the ship options, but I will fully add my B5 ships to CBF! Keep up the good work!

Ok, I started delving into the ship builder more, but I'm a little confused, I read the scenarios which seemed to indicate a point value system, but when I design a ship, no point value is assigned.
Also, I'm noticing I have no options or at least haven't see it, for a purely Aft arc'd weapon in the ship builder.

If you read in the beginning of the scenario section, it describes where point value = tonnage, which you select as part of the ship design process.
That is correct. There was a design decision made not to enable purely aft fire arcs in the core rules. However, this is something you can expect to see in an upcoming fleet book.
For now, just treat slots #4 and #6 as being able to handle aft-firing weapons, and mount weapons on the appropriate single-arc (port or starboard) for that slot, then manually edit the data card.

Ok, so the tonnage is the point value. Other than limiting the tech level, is there any way of offsetting the point value based on the tech level?
IE I'm a huge b5 fan, obviously I'd like to recreate some of my ships in CB. In certain cases the tech level is not equal. IE Minbari versus Earth for example.

No. . .
Balancing a tech-level/tonnage difference would be pretty much impossible and was never the intension. Even I will concede defeat on that one.
That said, it should be possible through trying things out, to get a general feel for it. Especially if using consistent factions all the time (like B5 factions). . . but a mathematical relationship is just not going to happen.
