Thanks!
I'm sure once I get the word out pretty well, we'll be in good shape.

I'm Jeff . . . and I was one of the folks on TMP that pushed for the inclusion of Pre-Dreadnought action . . . particularly the Russo-Japanese War . . . which apparently has sold well.

Hi guys and gals. I'm Jason, and have just started to play both Navel Thunder and Colonial Battle-fleet. Love them both! And Ken, the spreadsheets are fantastic!

Hi folks, I am Wendell AKA Vendii. Looks nice, will be running my first scenario using these rules on June 5, 2010.
Minor question: BC move on Cruiser turn but fire on Battleship?

Yes, exactly. Battlecruisers get the best of both worlds. They just pay for it with their paper thin armor.

Greetings Ray. Do you use minatures or counters to play your naval games?

I'm newly registered, but have been lurking for a little while. I haven't bought Colonial Battlefleet yet, but am very interested in it. My hesitation is two-fold: 1. money (been spending on 15mm sci-fi/horror minis and 2. ships.
As for the ship minis, what does everyone suggest? My gut is to go with GZG full thrust minis, but I like cheap and decent. Any other opinions?

Studio Bergstrom is a lot cheaper if you're looking to keep your expense down: www.studiobergstrom.comBut they are mostly "licensed" ship designs, rather than original ones. The Colonial Battlefleet core rules use Brigade Models as the default: www.brigademodels.co.ukA lot of different options there, and the prices are actually cheaper than they look because there's a 17% tax included that people outside the UK don't have to pay. They have a wide range of ships and some of them are pretty freakin cool. Another option is go go the GZG route, but don't buy anything above a battleship. Since CB only uses DD - BB that will keep your costs down also.

Or go my route and "scratch build" your own ships. There are some ideas for that in the "Painting & Modeling" section.

Mike "Broke it!" Kriz reporting. TheDreadnought brought me on to help make the game "unbreakable". I think we accomplished that! If you read my replies to anything, keep in mind my thoughts are with keeping the game "unbreakable"!
