I am painting my first batch of colonial miniatures and wanted to ask for some recommendations on the type of paint and color you use.
When I paint my Star Fleet Battles minis, I like to use testors enamels but I am open to other types when I paint the colonial minis.
Thanks.

I only use acrylics for all of my wargaming minis. I've always found enamels to be more hassle than they're worth, what with thinners, the smell and the messy clean-up! I use mainly GW paints and washes. I prime my colonial minis with grey auto primer and give them a heavy wash of GW Badab Black then drybrush with lighter grey and that's it! You can see soem of my own ships on this thread, just to give you an idea. www.steeldreadnought.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=painting&action=display&thread=458By the way, I'm not knocking enamels and if you can get the results you want then use them!

I to use water based and army painter shades after. This speeds my painting up a lot.
