This game is calling out to me.
I haven't played many naval games at all, and those I have played have been either steam/fantasy/punk (Dystopan Wars) or age of sail (e.g. Trafalgar). That said, I like CB, and am generally interested in naval gaming.
What minis are suitable for this game, and is the game scale-agnostic?
Will a buddy of mine who has already invested in the AH collectible WWII game be able to use his figs in this, and will I be able to find normal non-collectible figs close enough in scale to find middle ground with him in this?
Thanks!

He will be able to use his existing miniature range.
There are also a number of suppliers that make ships in 1/2400 scale.

the cool thing thing is you can use from 1/6000 to 1/1250 using the same rules. just have to adjust the ranges a little for what scale you are useing. 2400 is the most common, i use 1/1000 myself, there are few that like 1/3000 that is cool. and there is at least one use uses the 1/1250 which a battlehsip is 8 inchs long. all thew minis out there can be used which is cool about these rules and they are fast to play and easy to learn after a couple of games.

Mongoose Publishing is also coming out with a line of 1/1800 WWII minis. These will go well with anyone using the A&A minis - especially to pick up some of the "rares" you could never get (like Exeter, which will be one of their first minis).

I use my WaS minis exclusively for WWII. I use a variety of 1/2400 minis for the other periods. The 1/1800 AH models work just fine with NT.

I utterly refuse to buy a "collectable" game of any flavor, but it will be good to be able to get figs in the same scale so many naval gamers around here use.
