Finished these off yesterday, but the light was terrible, so I photographed them today. These are conjectural 1930 BB designs for the IJN, as custom built by Sir_Valentine over on the War at Sea ForumMini boards. First time I've painted any of Sir Valentine's excellent work. Just different enough to be a challenge, but I think they came out well! First work I've done for me, for FUN, in way too long. Thanks Val, these were beautiful to work with!

Those are great looking models!
. . . and some really peculiar designs! Pretty interesting!

They were interesting designs for sure. The Hiraga design sported ten 16" rifles, and the Fujimoto design had nine. Both probably would have been in the ballpark of the Tosa/Kaga design, but improved. Anyway, thanks, I'm glad you like!

What scale are the models Brig? 1/2400? It looks like you have the Gibbons "Battleships" book as well - I recognised it straight away...

The models are 1/1800, to match all the "A&A: War at Sea" minis I use for Naval Thunder. The Gibbons Battleship book is great - definitely where I first heard of these girls. Thanks fellas!
