Hello everybody! New member interested in WW2 Mediterranean. Does a ship's AA rating include primary & secondary batteries (ie. 6" to 3" mediums), or just close-in automatic weapons (ie. 2pdr pompoms, 40mm Bofors & 20mm Oerlikens)? I ask this because there doesn't seem to be much, if any, difference in AA capabilities between surface action ships & their AA equivalents (eg. Colony class vs. Dido class cruisers & Hunt class vs.Tribal class destroyers)? My research suggests that the RN & MN ships had their close-in automatic batteries upgraded specifically for this operation. Does anyone have any idea of how much I might realistically increase them by (I was thinking maybe +1pt for merchant ships, corvettes, destroyers & small AA cruisers, +2pts for light cruisers & carriers & +3pts for battleships)? Many thanks for any help/clarification/insights you can give.
