Now that I have completed the Ruso-Japanese War Yellow Sea Fleets it is time to move on to Tsushima. My order for the Tsushima ships is pending, but due to a previous error when ordering my Yellow Sea Fleets I happened to have an extra model I needed for my new Russian Fleet. First up the the Russian 2nd Division Flagship Oslyabya Picture I found: My Panzershiffe model: I am really pleased with how the masts turned out on this one especially the crows nests. If you recall my previous ones were a bit bulky. Instead of cutting tubing or using beads I used a small single hole punch on a sheet of styrene. Then I drilled out the round "chad" and it fit perfectly on the mast. This will become the new standard and now force me to go back and revise my Yellow Sea Squadrons. Good thing it will probably be a few weeks before the rest of my Tsushima models arrive. Edit: Wow the camera really shows all the details...I am glad my eyes are not that good in real life.

Well, it looks like Christmas has come a bit early for you, Aaron. Enjoy, sir . . . and I look forward to seeing these ships properly "decked out" soon.

We're going to try Yellow Sea in 1/6000 scale on New year's day. When we get the Huston ships, I'll post some pictures. Hoping for a camera for Christmas!

1/6000 is way too small for my old eyes. For example, the Japanese battleship Fuji would be 3/4" in length and 1/7" wide . . . what the PCs and flotilla craft would look like boggles my mind . . . and at table top viewing distances, what can one really see? I have trouble with the 1/2400s
The Houston's on the other hand are probably a bit too big for most peoples' tables . . . unless one abandons all concept of correct scale. I actually picked up an eBay sale of about 20 Houston Pre-Dreads a while back. Sadly many are missing parts . . . so I will need to see if I can get Dale to send me various pieces for lots of the ships.
What I have is a real hodge-podge: six American ships; four Spanish ships; three Russian ships; two Japanese ships; two British ships; one Italian ship; one French ship; and one Chinese ship.
Ah well, maybe the new year will see me trying to assemble some of the above (a few don't need parts). And may Santa bring all of you the ships that you desire . . . AND "Rise of the Battleship II" so that you can actually game with all of them.

The 1/6000 ships I painted them back in 2001 and hadn't used them so we wanted to try them out. I would need to painted about 12 more do do the other game, so we;ll most likely wait for the Huston ships.

Well I did not get to these as soon as I had hoped, but then RotB 2 did not come out when planned either. With the expected arival of the new expansion I figued I better clear my work bench. I was off work today so I took time this afternoon to make a major dent in the painting process. All that is left is Masts, touchups and clear coat. Once I get them finalized I will post inidivdual pics.

Good job, I'll be working on my Huston's at some point. I'm painting away on space ships right now, but will get to these and post pictures of the process.

Very nice . . . and maybe now that these are painted, Harry will get RotB2 out . . . then we can blame YOU for the delay (because he was waiting for you to finish these first).
Okay, so that doesn't really make sense . . . but it is as good an excuse as any, isn't it?

Hope to have these finished and ready to sail after this weekend so bring on RotB2.

Those turned out great, but how come the ship names aren't in Russian and Japanese?

Those turned out great, but how come the ship names aren't in Russian and Japanese? Because I don't speak Russian or Japanese. Typical American.
