Oh, and another thing to keep in mind . . . Flotillas (TBs and TBDs) for each nation . . . including all of those you mentioned above. Flotillas were a considerable factor during the Pre-Dreadnought era.

Certainly during the Russo-Japanese War of 1904-05 the flotillas (TBs and TBDs) played an important role. The strike by 10 IJN TB's at Port Arthur sank two Russian BB's and a cruiser. The fear of IJN torpedo boats in the North Sea caused the Russians to sink a British fishing trawler. This almost brought the RN into the war.

Yes, but the TB's and TBD's of the era were so small that even Naval Thunder which has excellent granularity starts to lose the significance of the difference between classes. So as we did in RotB, we'll just be doing a generic flotilla for each side based on their most prevalent type.

I've got Conways. . .that's what I'm using for data. . . but they are LOADED with ships. I have to narrow it down to only the relevant ones.

Generic Flotillas based on the most prevalent types will be fine . . . just as long as that factor is not overlooked.

And I'm glad that the NISC site provided the information that you were looking for. It is an excellent site that covers the ships of the "Cino-Japanese War of 1894-1895", the "Spanish-American War of 1898" and the "Russo-Japanese War of 1904-1905". The previous link was to the Spanish-American War, but it isn't the only one covered.

Generic TBs and TBDs should be fine for the Pre-dread era. Very light guns along with a few torpedo tubes would be representative of most TBs and TBDs during that time period.

The only "real" difference would be due to the various different torpedoes that were carried since their guns were essentially useless except against other flotilla craft.

Any chance the list in the first post can be verified/updated for us that are highly anticipating the release of RotB2?

I would like to place a order for ships so I have some to play with when RotB2 comes out.

Maybe a sneak peak of a couple OoB for scenarios we can expect to find in RotB2? That would be ideal for those of us who need to order our fleets.

I'd take a look at the two main naval battles of the Spanish-American War -- Manila Bay & Santiago de Cuba -- those should give you a good start on things . . . and any extra ships can certainly be ordered after RotB2 is released (when you'll undoubtedly want some British, German, French and other ships anyway).

In MY Pre-Dreadnought navies, we do not coddle our sailors with projections . . . instead we send projectiles at enemy fleets.

I agree with this... but I'd also include the Pelayo (pre-dread battleship) and I'd like some differentiation between standard torpedo craft & the Terror, Furor, etc. class... they were supposed to be a different animal entirely.

Also, any chance of adding to the list of Americans to be included?
