It looks like I have just beaten afilter to the rank of Commander . . . which means, of course, that I am senior to you, Aaron;
In other words, I've reached 250 posts while Aaron languishes at 249 posts . . . well, very briefly I suspect . . . but I'm senior . . . at least until he beats me to Captain.

Congratulations, Aaron. You too are now a Commander . . . and I won't take advantage of my seniority. Besides, you'll soon have more posts than me anyway.
And yes, while I don't want to admit my age, I did learn my Roman Numerals in math class . . . but not from any of the really famous Romans.

PS, do you know how difficult it is to give compass headings in Roman Numerals?

Congratulations to you both - a wonderful achievement!! Promotion and progression based on ABILITY rather than seniority...

Oooooh! So THAT'S what those little starry-ranky things to the left mean! Heh. Personally, I like being a Lt. Cmdr. Enough rank to avoid the scut work (see: Ensign & Lt. Jg.) and not enough rank to really catch all that much blame (not being in charge has its benefits!).

But higher ranks can always BLAME everyone else, so rank does have its privileges!
