Here's what I have come up with for the De Ruyter. HMNLS De Ruyter Hull: 26 Speed: 8 FC: Std AV: 7 SAV: 1 AA/ASW: 3/0 Move Step: Cruiser Shoot Step: Cruiser Secondary Battery Layout: Size Guns/Turret #Turrets Arc of Fire 5.9”/50 2 1 F/P/S 5.9”/50 1 1 F/P/S 5.9”/50 2 2 A/P/S Gun Data: Size:5.9”/50 S:10 M:20 L:30 X:40 Pen:3 Dmg:3 Aircraft: 2 x Recon, 2 x Flt Ops. Found a very good site for Dutch ships whilst doing this one. Helped a lot especially with when things were upgraded as each ship has a historical timeline. www.netherlandsnavy.nl/index.html Any thoughts? Happy hunting in the Pacific. Martin

Martin, I am a big fan of the ABDA Float and want to game their exploits starting with the Battle of Balikapan. The Dutch ships are primed do you have the stats for the Destroyers done. I am looking to run JAVA Island at NAV-CON in Millwalkee this Oct. Do you think you will post them soon? I ran SAVO island at the Williamsburg Muster in VA last weekend and the NT rules work well for these small ship actions. Mike out

Been very busy this week but I was planning to sit down and do them this weekend. Of course now it's midday Sunday and I've still only compiled data. I'll see what I come up with this afternoon. Also if you do use the Dutch ships I have done data cards for let us know how they go and if anything needs changing or didn't feel quite right. Cheers. Martin

I'm new around here, so I don't know if this has been answered already: When you're working up ship data how do you derive gun range and penetration values?

Slojax sorry for the late reply but I didn't see your question. The way I derive the gun data is I find data for whatever gun I need and then compare it to the data of a gun dreadnought has already done. The navweaps site is excellent for this. Once I find another gun fairly close to the one I want I just use it's stats or tweak them slightly if needed depending on any historical notes about the gun. There's no specific formula I follow.
