I've noticed that the Spanish "Aragon" class is incorrectly rated. They should be rated as "Unprotected Cruisers" as opposed to its current "Armored Cruiser" rating.
These were wooden-hulled unarmored ships whose "main battery" (sic) consisted of four 5.9" guns . . . not very much of an Armored Cruiser as far as I'm concerned.
Ratings -- 20 pts; speed 3; hull 13; armor 4 . . . should be an Unprotected Cruiser class ship moving/shooting with the Flotillas.

Small issue: I just noticed on USS Texas the long torp range is listed as 4 instead of the standard 3 for all other Pre-dreads. This is also the case on Maine and New York. I thought maybe it was something special about the 14" torp, but Iowa is listed as only 3 with the 14" unless Iowa is the error and all 14" are suppose to have a range of 4?

Aaron
It is not just the Texas, it is also the Maine(1), New York, Albany, Baltimore, Chicago, Columbia and Olympia. (I'm working on the printing tool and getting the data together!)

I know nobodys complaining about the errors, but I still want to say a big thanks you all who worked on the data cards. It is a "fun" job, but is difficult to catch all the little errors. So THANKS for your work on these!

I agree with Larry. I just want to see RotB2 be as good as it can be . . . and to help Harry correct the small flaws that inevitably creep into any project.

RotB2 -- Spanish Gun Data looks wrong.
Almost all of the Spanish guns shoot farther at all ranges and have higher Penetration and Damage ratings than comparable guns of other nations. It looks like they were evaluated using a different formula.
Some Examples:
3" guns: Others -- 2/4/6; pen 0, dmg 1 Spanish -- 3/6/9; pen 0, dmg 1
4" guns: Others -- 2/4/6; pen 0, dmg 1 Spanish -- 4/8/12; pen 1, dmg 2
4.7" guns: Others -- 3/6/9*; pen 0 or 1, dmg 1 . . . . . . (* or 12) Spanish -- 5/10*/15 or 16; pen 1 or 2 , dmg 2 or 3 . . . . (* sometimes 9 or 11)
5.9" guns: Others -- 4/8/12; pen 1, dmg 2 Spanish -- 6/13/19; pen 2 , dmg 3
6" guns: Others -- 4/8/12; pen 1, dmg 2 Spanish -- 6/12/18; pen 2 , dmg 3
@ 8" guns: 8" & 8.2" others -- 6/12/18; pen 3, dmg 3 7.9" Spanish -- 8/16/23; pen 3, dmg 4
9.4" guns: Others -- 7/14/21; pen 4, dmg 4 Spanish -- 9/19/28; pen 4 , dmg 5
And there are other seeming anomalies with other not-directly relatable gun sizes. Now I might be wrong, but I certainly do not believe that the Spanish navy was so superior in their gunnery technology.
So, Harry, this appears to need some attention. I'm sorry that I hadn't spotted this earlier, but RotB2 arrived at an inconvenient time for me and I only got a chance to look at it recently.

No, looks like the Spanish gun data was done using WWI era formulas. It was completed late, so that is probably why.
I'll fix it when I do the errata update. In the meantime, just use the other numbers for that gun information.
There will be a few gun data anomolies in the rules that are intentional, reflecting obsolete weapons where the caliber really doesn't tell the weapon's story. But yes, what you've spotted here is just an error.

Thank you. I thought so, Harry. And, yes, I realize that some ships had older guns which have lesser stats (as they should).
Please look at ALL of the Spanish gun data . . . I only listed those that had good comparisons . . . some looked odd but didn't have a proper "double".

Harry.
When you get the corrected data, let me know and I will update the spreadsheet so you can release them at the same time.
