Hello, I'm new to the forum. We recently picked up NT:CoD and will play for the first time tonight. We have 8 players so will have a ship each and do Dogger Bank with a spare ship for the Brits. Has any one else done this yet? My sparse knowledge and googling suggests the Blucher was slow and held back the Germans, but the ship data for CoD has it as speed 6, the same as the slowest British ship. That being the case the British would not catch the Germans unless they slow the Blucher down (and hence the German line) through hits, but at the extreme starting range that's a bit err... hit and miss So would the solution to be reduce the German squadron speed by an inch or just reduce the Blucher's speed or play as is? Should be fun to play, we've previously tried VaS WW1 and enjoyed it but wanted to try this set to get a good comparison. We will play in 1/2400 with a mix of GHQ, Panzerschiffe and the old Micro Matrix ships. Sadly I'll have to sunstitute a Lion class as I only have the one. Always the way, a fine array of 20 ships and 1 short of exactly what I need!!

Welcome aboard Stenicplus.
I will preface my answer by saying I play WW2 and haven't tried the WW1 variant yet but generally I would always start by playing the scenario as is. This gives you a chance to play through the game and learn the rules and to see if the scenario needs tweeking. Then after a game or two when you are a bit more confident add in some scenario rules if you think it needs them.
Hope this helps. Martin

I have played this one a couple times using the set up from V@S Age of Dreadnaaughts. I just checked and I guess I never posted an AAR.
Ships started out in range and Brits did score some hits and we had a good Battle from it with the Germans coming out on top due to a magaizine explosion if I recall.
Slowing down Blucher and setting some victory condidtions would be a good idea though.

welcome to the forums, if nothing else, play it out and see what happenes, then play it again and change things and see how they go. i know i played at naval con last oct with someone and the germans where to get away from the british....i said frag and turned around to engage the brits as the german player.....i have one ship that was damaged and one ship that was still intact...everything else went down quickly when going agaist battleships with cruisers.....it was fun though...i did not read the ship stat as a should have with the amount of guns each ship had and had the wrong to hit rolls figureed out..it was the 2nd time playing naval thunder...i played a game for the first time that moring....and it was the clash of the dreads setup....
