I have the pages saved to the harddrive for a bunch of ships I need to stat out for use with my fleets in 1000 scale. I have german, spanish, usa, and a bunch of unknown ships. some of the ships have stats and there are some that will be posted here as i get them done. I need help and a good kick in the butt to help get me into doing them...sigh....
'a lot of the ships are going to out dated by the turn of the centry if not by the 1890's. everything is from the end of the civil war and a bit later that I am doing.
did anyone know where the post went for the math for figureing out hull damage and speed? i know a lot of the ships are not going to have much for hull point or even armor to say the least.
here is a couple of things i want to ask the group off hand when i state these out. would most of you guys want something close to what the ships had or would most of you guys like the stats for a couple of minor upgrades to reflect the ships being kept in sevrice longer then there due dates and then what types of minor upgrades would make sence for stuff.
pulling the old smooth bores and repaing them with newer rifles would be one thing. meybe even some updated engines for a different look. What types of speed increased would make sence and what sized guns would be the best bet? Like would a 4inch gun replacing older cannons make sence or would mybe a 5 inch gun work better?
I am doing this since i have many out dated ships from the time period that fall in the 1861 to the late 1880's stuff for the ships i have. Just trying to have some ships to be able to field something for a weird what if fights agaist my 1905 japan fleet.
an idea of what i have is gun boats, sailing ships with steam (like warrior from 1861), torp boats, armed steamers, central battery ironclads, cruisers of many types.
thanks for your time and please feel free to toss out comments...it gets me going ont stating this things out and then getting the detail painted on the ships to show on here...
