This weekend, I'm about to run a Jutland game (Just BBs and BCs) with the other gaming group in town and I'm wondering if there are any tips for running such a large game.

Yes, I've run Jutland before. It's importnant to keep the turns organized and flowing. So you'll need to have somebody who's responsibility it is to call out the phases of each turn so everybody knows exactly what they are supposed to be doing.
That person will need to be keeping tabs on everyone's progress and push the pace a little.
I'd also skip splitting the turn up by ship type, and just have one movement and one firing step.
Don't try and have one player shoot at a time. Each person should work with the person playing the ships opposite them so that everybody (as much as possible) can all be resolving their shooting at the same time.
Make sure there are plenty of reference sheets available. And if you have seasoned players, try to match them up with people who have not played before.
It's a challenge running a battle so big. But we managed to run it to completion in about 5 1/2 hours with 19 players.
Take pics if you can!

We did manage to get the game and the participants had no problem picking up the rules within a turn or two.
That said, I've been used to WW2 ranges lately, I set up the main fleets too far back from each other. What resulted was a duel between Beatty and Hipper in which the guy running Hipper thoroughly outmanoeuvred the Brit's scouting force inflicting much more damage than he received.
I should have the post on my blog in the next day or two.

I realize this is old. But what are the pennies for Martin Lefebvre? Splashes?

So is anyone doing something for the 100th coming up mid-week?
