Hi Gents,
The Club are thinking of having an ACW themed night for the 150th anniversary of Gettysburg and I'm thinking of a spot of ironclad action.
Assuming that NT: Pre-Pre-Dreadnought isn't published before July (?!), might anyone recommend their preferred rules and miniature scale to hit the sweet spot?
Cheers! Wilf

There are some sets out there, Smoke on the Water comes to mind. But we always like Ironclads the boardgame and switched it to minis. You might find one on E-Bay, but it wouldn't be cheap. Love the Langton models in 1:1200 www.rodlangton.com/He also has a set of rules,Fire and Iron. Never played these, but have play some of his others. They are very detailed.

Thanks Guys,
Further online research completed. I have found & downloaded Smoke on the Water (Thanks CK), and ordered a couple of 1/1200 Navwar starter packs to toe-dip with. The Langdons look great but at a premium (lets see if I catch the ACW bug). Also the 1/600s from Bay Area & Peter Pig are great but too big for my gaming area. Potential retail rulesets: Iron and Fire, David Manley (Navwar, Wargames Vault, etc.) - unknown.
Sail and Steam Navies (Bay Area Yards, USA) - new release?
Hammering Iron (Peter Pig).
Cheers!
Wilf

1/600 scale is not that bad, you can fight a battle a on a 4'x6' table or even if you dont mind knife fighting you could do 4x4' even. dont that with smoke on the water rules and you do not want to get above med speed though or you will leave the board or crash into something... i have been played smoke many times and its very easy to run and play and the best bet it dont cost anything is even better....hehhehe i have many 1/600 scale ships that i like to use for ASC fights.
