Very cool man! I love to see some of the matchups you're doing! You guys sure get a lot more play than I do - envious. I love the photos - the KM/IJN matchup looked especially fun!

You painted the ships and based them in blue ocean, why not buy a cheap piece of blue felt to run them on? It will make the game look so much better and adds to the feel. You should be able to get one at Walmart or Jo-Ann's for little to nothing.

Hi brigman, I do agree with you, of all the games, I particular like the battle between IJN and KM Hi warchariot, a friend of ours actualy bought blue felts but they come in 2x2 and hence he is "still" sewing it together. FYI, this mini league is a kickstarter for our group and had generated some interest within our local wargamining group. Also, at the time of the mini league commencement, some of the ships to be use in the league were yet to arrive

Aye admiral, we are drawn upon the ease of the gameplay and flexibility it provide. Yet to fully play / test all available options

What are the starting distances you're using for these games? Seems like it's really tight spacing on your fleets.

We maximized our starting distance, for no apparent reason. Ie: attacker get to place up to 50% of the length while the defender deploys up to 25%.

So what did you like/not like about the way you ran this league? What would you do differently next time?

I would say, A) having a standardize table size for the games as at the moments we are playing our battles at different location (my place, Dave's place and the local coffee shop). Due to certain limitation, we find it rather difficult to find a standardize location and table for our games B) umpire / 3rd person referee as a legislator and provide checks / confirmation / dispute by players. C) proxy ships - might actualy make players not to use proxy ships!! For this round, as there were some delays on our orders, we went with it, perhaps subsequent rounds, we might actually implement it
