As surprise units for a modified Battle of the River Plate, I devised these two platforms. They're very rough and quick sketches, using simple information. I submit for everyone to use and modify as desired. A little bit information below: Altmark: Tanker that supported the Graf Spee. It's a simple 'what if' Harwood had happened upon the Spee and Altmark during a refueling. While in RL, Altmark would've prob made best speed to clear the area, it's possible it might not be able to have to fight it out alongside the Spee. The hull points are a simple sop to keep the unit longer in the battle, the weaponry is based on the Wikipedia entry. Please, modify as you wish, but would you let me know what you do and why, so I could perhaps use it. Atlantis: Auxilary Cruiser/Raider. Adds to the simple 'what if' above. Harwood encounters Spee laying nearby a merchant it appears to be plundering. Harwood moves his squadron to the aid and suddenly torpedoes reach out for him from the 'innocent merchie'. As with the Altmark, the hull points are simply to keep the unit in the fight, and I'm sure, based on size alone, she merits DD stats for AV/SAV. As with the Altmark, do as you wish, just share your changes for the NT forum. If you're concerned about the Brits, simply add in the Cumberland (historically left in the Falklands), and I'm even going to add an Carlisle type C-class CL if needed (and if more than 3-4 players show up) Thanks! You're welcome brigs; for some reason, found them easier, and more fun than making WaS cards. Seeya on forumini! ;D Hey, wow, great work Jim. Thanks for putting those up!

One thing I noticed I forgot to fix: Altmark should have a '1' SAV. Of course, YMMV.

Honestly, I think it is easier to create stats for NT:BR than W@S, because you're dealing strictly with the mechanical and tangible and not any kind of funky SAs.

Hey jdagee,
these look great and will help me with the Kormoran I keep meaning to do.
One question why the SAVs? The info I've read suggested their decks were slightly strengthened to accomodate military weapons but were almost identical to other merchantman.
Cheers for any info.

Hi Martin, The SAVs I used are, really, just something to keep the units in the game longer, if needed. For Altmark, I figured since she was a Naval Auxiliary, she would have a better DC-trained crew aboard than a standard merchie, so this could represent that factor. For Atlantis (which really isn't 'Atlantis' but just a generic Aux Cruiser I put together and called Atlantis :')), her Master might just drill his crew better in reacting to damage than a regular merchie. YMMV, and you're welcome to change what factors you'd like. Let me know if there's something else or another question.
