Hello Members:
I just joined today. I have not gotten a copy yet of Naval Thunder and the supplement on the Pre- Dread era. I was looking for rules that cover Shore Batteries and was wondering if this set of rules cover them in the Pre-Dreadnaught era.
I am working on a situation based off of Robert Conroy's novel 1901. The Germans in my alternative history get what they want. In 1908 the US does things that get the dander up on the Germans and they are on the way to attack and capture San Francisco. You have to read the book to realize what I am doing here. So you see the need for Shore Batteries as there are many at that time in the Bay area.
I will answer questions about this situation if asked. I will be using a foam cut out of Marin County,San Francisco County, Alcatraz, and Angel Island. The Naval vessels 1/6000th scale.
Chime in please

Naval Thunder has very basic rules for shore batteries and basically considers them invulnerable to ship fire, if you have a scenario were ship vs shore combat is a major point I would treat shore batteries as a heavily armored ship but ignore hit points, only a main battery critical will silence the battery.

Firstly welcome aboard and I'm sure you'll enjoy the rules. This should probably be asked under the Naval Thunder section, you might get more advice there.
I do vaguely remember a similar thread being asked there as well so maybe have a hunt around.
I play WW2 so can't comment specifically on pre-dreadnought sorry.
Good luck with the scenario.
