I am looking at getting some minis to play with, and am looking at four sources:
Hangar 18 Bergstrom Studios Ironwind Ravenstar
Some concerns I have are obviously cost, but also scales and compatability.
IronWinds look significantly larger than all the others, and are significantly more expensive.
Hangar 18 stuff looks awesome, is reasonably priced and offers a huge variety of ships across all classes, but based upon their measurements, appear a tad small.
Ravenstar I know nothing about size or price, I am waiting for an email from Fox about prices, but everyone on these boards seems to prefer them.
Bergstrom has a very affordable battlestar mini, and fighters too. I will definitely get fighters from him, but the battlestars look small flimsy and the pics arent he best so its hard to gauge quality.
Thoughts, suggestions, and recommendations?

From your list, I only have minis from Bergstrom. I'll say this - all of his stuff looks *much* better in person than the photos on his site. He does an excellent job on casting, quality control, and cleaning before you get them - almost zero flash.

Where to start? All four fit together nicely. Ravenstar is slow to get stuff out, but has the most to offer. His stuff is mainly resin. Fox Miniatures may not be producing anymore, but he did sell the ironwind and Ravenstar stuff along with some other items. fox@foxminiatures.com Ironwind are great metal models, but make only Colonial stuff. Hanger 18 as announced he will be hanging it up fairly soon, so you might jump on his stuff. Bergstrom's (Drew) Zylons look better in person than on his site. They are a bit smaller, but still fit in. You should take a look at B3s items: sites.google.com/site/behrlewhubbuchiiisculptor/homeHe has a small but growing line. He is also the designer of the Ironwind models for the most part, and is easy to work with. He also has all the fighters in the correct scale as did/does Fox. Hope that helps

As far as FA fighters, who's do you prefer Bergstroms or Fox's? They are both comparable price, and Fox's has te benefit of being about an hours drive from me since he is in Cincy.

I like Fox and then B3 for FA fighters. Drew's are okay, but Fox fighters are the best.
