Very nice! Tell me about your game mat, is it hand made?

The "game mat" is just quilting fabric from Joanne's Fabric in the US. They have/had a series of prints that worked perfect for a lush green, watery waves or deep space look. For my 6x9' table I had to piece two sections together because it is 48" wide, but the positive aspect is if we get close to the edge of the world I can just pull on the fabric to give us another foot of playing area. Since Joanne's regularly run 40 and 50% off coupons in the paper it was quite inexpnsive.

Oh, one more. I also did a desert that worked so well we have lost camoflaged tanks on it. ;-)

Nice, I've used felt for years, but that is nice.

I have a 6x9' felt as well, with iron-on hexes on one side, but I got tired of stands snagging on the felt as it got worn. The models and bases slide easily on this tightly woven fabric so I've been pretty happy with it and the illusion of waves is a bonus. I put away the felt unless we need hexes. A correction as well: I bought the fabric at Hobby Lobby, not Joanne's.
