Time and time again, I see threads on TMP or other sites asking for recommendations of what space game to play...and every time, CBF is mentioned, but often well after other games are mentioned, like Full Thrust, etc...
Why is that? CBF is such a solid game?
I think it has to do, somewhat, with accessibility.
Full Thrust is probably the most popular game around. It's a decent game, but it's not my favorite...however, finding resources for it is so simple!
I was surprised to see that there is no CBF Facebook page! Should we make one? Would people searching for it be better off with more content online? What if it was a place to chat and share ideas? These forums are so quiet, and people tend to be on FB so often...I know that FT page is hoping!
Maybe I'll make one. Look it up. Hopefully we can get some membership up.

It's just a function of time and marketing. It's just me running SDG. Aside from me and a few devoted fans, there's nobody to tell people about CB.
Sorry I had to edit your post a little. Don't need to be a clearing house for info about other games. We're behind enough as it is. LOL

Ahh, no worries. I wasnt trying to advertise, but rather to show what we can help this place become. Don't sell yourself short - this game is great. It deserves a better audience than it has because of what it is - and if we, as a community, can help promote it and make it accessible, then we need to do so. Think about one of the most common questions people ask when investigating a ruleset: "Can it play my [insert favorite space race here]?" We arent talking about expansions here (although, yes please, keep bringing them out!) - we're talking about fan conversions, etc. Do I have your permission to make a FB CBT page? I plan on making it open, and posting designs on it, etc. It might catch on a bit more than some very quiet forums

Absolutely, go right ahead. Although you might want to call it CBF or CB. "CBT" is Classic Battletech as far as I know. Yeah I was thinking the other day about why the forums are so quiet. I feel that in some ways its a compliment. If there are no arguments over what the rules mean or how to play them, or what's broken in the system, it really cuts down on forum chatter. LOL

Yea, typing on a phone tends to lead to epic misspellings! Excitement is as good a reason to post on a forum as rules questions are. In fact, I tend to frequent forums more because I am excited about them than seeking answers... Come visit us at: Colonial Battlefleet fan page.
