Gentlemen, There is a current topic on TMP (The Miniatures Page, for any who don't know) on what people's favorite era is: theminiaturespage.com/boards/topics.mv?id=129Interesting to read . . . and, Harry, please notice the prominent position of the Pre-Dreadnought era . . . I wonder how many of them are also waiting for " Rise of the Battleship II"? -- Jeff

I wonder how many of them are also waiting for " Rise of the Battleship II"? Hmmm....very interesting indeed I am sure RoTB II is probably much anticipated. As for the topic, I am undecided. Until I discovered NT I had never played pre-dreads and only tried WWI a couple times. Now I am painting like a crazy man and really looking forward to the day when RoTB II will be available to provide data for SPAN-AM War. I still enjoy WWII especially the what if actions as well as some of the historical scenarios. I just repainted a USS Houston model and looking forward to to Java Sea actions. What really appeals to be with Pre-dreads is the ablility to get a lot of ships in a smaller playing area due to the reduced ranges and tactical manuevering.

World War I for me.
Sales say:
Starship Gaming WWII WWI Pre-Dreads
Pre-dreads are about 40% of WWII sales.
But, we plan on getting RotB2 out before Christmas.

Hmm tough one as I like most eras and dabble in most as well but if I have to choose it would be WW2(no aircraft) followed by Age of Sail in a close second.

WWI and pre-dreads. Still looking for an age of sail game I like. Only limited experience with WWII and modern.

I tried age of sail games years ago, but just did not care for the rules . However, if a good set of playable rules becomes available, I would certainly be willing to try them again. Several companies make miniatures for age of sail. Currently, Pre-dread, WWI, and WWII are my favs. Modern may be O.K. just never got interested due to the missile over the horizon capability. Fire and forget. Maybe someone who has played modern can enlighten me to this period .

Fastgit the group I play with use the Form Line of Battle rules. Very good, simple to pick up and play and give a solid feel for the era without devolving into too many charts or rules.
