Afilter, you convinced myself and Nisk as well, sir. I actually purchased the NT rules several months ago but didn't make a big effort to use them until I read your recommendation on them. Now I'm hooked. I like WaS for what it is and enjoy introducing new players to Naval Tabletop with it but, it leaves a lot of "holes" for those of us that have a deeper interest in naval history and tactics. Yes, I am starting to see alot of familar names over here. WaS is still a great simplistic starter game. Now with NT you get an entirely new game that you can use the same minis with. Since the WoTC Models work great with NT as is it makes it very easy to go back and forth which I regularly do depending on the mood.

Yea, he had been buggin me for months to try them out but I didn't feel like learning a new ruleset. Wish I had done so back then. Such a great ruleset and adds more depth to a awesome time period of gaming!

Glad to see so many W@S players over here.
I had always intended Naval Thunder to be the next step for people who had tried "gateway games" like WaS or VaS, but wanted a little more depth. . . without loosing playability or fun.
Welcome guys!
. . . and BattleshipOverkill might get my vote for coolest forum handle. LOL!

You are correct and IMO that is the beauty of NT at least for WWII. For a very minimal investment you get a completely new game that the WoTC minis can be used with and go back and forth. I know alot of WaS players (myself included) struggle with the lack of detail and some of the oversimplied things in WaS. I even developed an extensive set of large scale house rules early on for WaS. Now NT fills that void and I can still sit down for a quick game of WaS when I get the urge.

Just here to say hi just joined and have been playing NT for a while now and absolutely love it!
I play War At Sea and, am a member of that forum (same name some of you might recognize me). I hope to use the models for NT as soon as I get Battleship Row (right now I just play Clash Of Dreadnoughts and Rise Of The Battleship).
