OK I am looking buying NT so I can show it to others in the area. But What do I need to play?
I am looking at WWII and I will be using the WOTC WAS minis
Battle ship row- Book comes with rules but what ships? (Pretty sure US)
Bitter Rivals - No rules but ships for most of Europe
Clash of Dreadnought- Rules covers WWI
Rise of the Battleship- No rules bur more WWI ships
So I am guessing all I need is Battleship Row and Bitter Rivals to do any WWII ships battles?
Does anyone have a idea how many ships are in the books? Mainly are we talking 5% of the ships in WWII or 95% of ships? I can see some local guys asking about all the ships.
EDIT: Forgot to ask can I print the rules off? I hate to read on the laptop while playing a game.
Thanks

Welcome...You will want Battleship row (USN vs IJN) fleet lists are pretty complete. Bitter rivals adds UK, Germany, Italy and France as well as sceanrios for both European theater and Pacific again the fleet list are pretty cmplete. CoD is WWI UK vs. Germany. RotB is Pre-Dreads Russia Vs. IJN 1904-1905. RoTB II is due out soon and will introduce Spanish American War and more. With your WaS fleets if you have Battleship Row and Bitter Rivals I think you will be very happy....I know I am. You have to print the books, but they are laid out very well and are professionally done. I suggest a 1-1.5" binder with page protectors. The best part of the game IMO is the Ship data base that allows you to print ship data cards as you need them (equivelant to Stat cards in WaS). You write on them for the game and discard when you are done. Not just ship classes, but actual ships. HTH,

Thanks for that info. I see I can get 20% off if I can order today so I am going to do just that.
I can print the rules no problem. On the ship data base does that come with the books or do I find it some where else?

She ship database is included in the download package and is an MS Excel file.
Ship lists are extensive. Battleship Row/Bitter Rivals together give you pretty much every significant combatant from the major nations: U.S., U.K., Japan, Germany, Italy, France. You will have stats for many, many more ships than are available in the WaS range.
There are also a ton of scenarios included, so plenty of historical games you can play.
Please take some pics of your games and share them on the After Action Reports board. Always love to see the game in action!

Well telling you what ships is a little late if you already downloaded. There are some small games in both with only a few ships on a side. The WAS ships should cover most of the scenarios which come in Battleship Row and Bitter Rivals. Good luck!
Oh, I'm a WWI and before fan as are many here, don't leave out Clash or Rise as they are great games too.

I like the idea of WWI also but with out a cheap way to get ships I don't see my self going that way just yet.

Warhawk, The 1/2400 scale Panzerschiffe Pre-Dreadnoughts are resin rather than metal and cost mostly $3 each (some are $4 and DDs are $1.50, but most are $3). www.panzerschiffe.com/Catalog.htmlPanzerschiffe's WWI ships are mostly $4 each with some at $3 and some at $5 and DDs at $1.50. See the above website for what's available. There are numerous photos on this forum of the 1/2400 Panzerschiffe RJW models (some modified by adding masts). Look through and you'll see lots of nice photos. They should give you an idea of what they look like. Also take a look at this fellow's blog and scroll back through it. He gives a close-up of almost every ship in the Russo-Japanese War (almost all are Panzerschiffes, with a couple of Viking Forge minis): colcampbell-shipyard.blogspot.com/-- Jeff

Those are pretty cool. For that price I might have to look at picking up a few.
Thanks for the links.

Warhawk, Aaron (afilter) has lovely ships in the Painting/Modeling Gallery, as he says . . . but do be aware that he has added masts to his 1/2400 Panzerschiffe resin models. Below is a link to another fellow's blog. While he plays some rules that a fellow in his club wrote, he has painted virtually every ship DD and above to take part in the Russo-Japanese War. Virtually all of his ships are Panzersciffe models (two or three are from Viking Forge) and they look great too . . . even though he hasn't added masts like Aaron has. Just scroll back and look at his photos (and click on them for much larger photos: colcampbell-shipyard.blogspot.com/-- Jeff
