Greetings, Everyone. While browsing Amazon.com, I cam across two new book titles covering WWI naval: Battle of the Baltic Islands: www.amazon.com/BATTLE-BALTIC-ISLANDS-1917-Imperial/dp/1844157873/ref=ntt_at_ep_dpi_5BATTLE ON THE SEVEN SEAS: GERMAN CRUISER BATTLES 1914 - 1918 www.amazon.com/BATTLE-SEVEN-SEAS-CRUISER-BATTLES/dp/1848841825Both books are a little pricey, with the amazon.com discount, they cost about the average of a hardback book ($25). The author is one Gary Staff. I'd though I had not heard of him before, but turns out I do have two books from him: German Battleships 1914-1918 I and II from Osprey Publishing. I admit, I bought the Osprey titles more for the photographs and line art, but the writing is decent. Mr. Staff does have a penchant for giving gun size in centimeters, and ranges in hectometres. I also came across a part in one of the Osprey books where he declared the armoured belt of one German dreadnought past the citadel giving resistance to a hit as disproving the "all or nothing" armouring concept, so I might take any assertation he makes with an a grain of salt. However, given the obscure events these books cover, I may well pick them up. Has anyone read them? Opinions? Otherwise, just wanted to share the discovery with the board! ~Brian
