Was reading in Wiki that these destroyers were among the first IJN ships equipped with radar (in addition to being outstanding destroyers). The ship sheet in NT:BR (spelled a little differently) still has them as fire control type JPN, so I'm wondering if the radar wasn't suitable for fire control or the IJN simply wasn't training and using it that way.
Or am I mistaken as to the ID of the ship?

I don't believe they had fire control radar, only search.

The IJN used two main types of shipboard radar. The Type 13 radar for air search and the Type 22 surface search set. The IJN worked very hard to turn the Type 22 into an effective gunnery radar, but most sources seem to indicate this was unsuccessful.
