Hi guys,
Seen a lot of buzz about this rules set, and im liking what i see! ;D
Just a quick question, i have sizable fleets in 1:3000 for the med in 1941 with space for a 10' by 6' board and was wondering if this rules set could handle that without getting bogged down ( like General Quarters III does! ).
The fleets, if i was ever going to deploy everything, contain about 24 ships each, but would normally be about 10 ships each for the scenarios i would want to play.
I dont want this post to come across as me being big headed or anything, i just dont want to buy a set of rules only to find i cannot use them fully!
Peter

Peter, WELCOME! The question is can your fleets handle this game? Take a look at some of the AARs and you will see that NT does very well with large scale actions as well as ship on ship small force actions. We have gamed full scale Tsushima using CoD RoTB. NT Bitter Rivals already contains some nice Med scenarios. I have personally played a number of the MED scenarios at cons with 8-10 ships per side with new players that had never played before contolling 2-3 ships each no problem. Enjoy!

Thanks for the reply, looks like my bank account is going to suffer again! Fortunately the rules themselves are realitively inexpensive compared to other bound rule sets.

Welcome aboard Spener.
The group I game with play quite a lot of Med games from proper scenarios to general pick up games and we've never had a problem with larger games. Generally we play around about 12-16 ships per side with usually 2-3 players per side and we can easily get this size game finished in an evening. Once you played a few times and know what the stages of the game are it really isn't hard to command 6+ ships each without the game slowing down at all. I've even commanded the whole Italian fleet in one game and though it took a bit longer to go through each step as I was doing everything for all 15 ships the game still got finished.
As for table 10' x 6' is a good size for large capital ships which can have ranges out to 80" but an 8' x 5' or even 6' x 4' is ok for cruiser/destroyer actions.
Post AARs when you get up and going.

a while back i played for the 2nd time and there where 2 of us playing. we used 5 ships vs 6 ships and only took a few hours which was cool. 10 ships per side is not really a big deal. last year i got introed to the game with 6 players who never played and itroed the game and each player had 2 ships vs each other and we played in 4 hours. it wad COD and was japan vs russian ships in the was war of 1905 and that what won me over to 1/1000 scale damn it....sigh.....i just liked the way they look...sigh now hav a japan fleet vs nothing to fight expect to impove something...
