Thanks all. We have a super collection of ships between the group so pretty much anything 1900-1945 is possible. Real anxious to see the WWI "other navies" come out.
The table covering is a quilting fabric from Hobby Lobby. They have two-tone colors that work great for inner-space to outer-space to the desert or jungle.
Battle star and citation to the crew of the Tucker.

Interesting battle and as we have found in many encounters with IJN 14" gunned BB's, they usually come out on the short end against USN 16" gunned fast BB's.
Based upon the historical OOB for this battle, the Nachi was added (or substituted) to the IJN side and Omaha was used in place of one of the CLAA cruisers that usually screened the fast CVs. The Omaha class was quickly relegated to secondary theatres and duties. I assume do to age and lack of space for AA.

I actually like using the old refit U.S. battleline for this reason. . . tends not to be a fair fight otherwise.

Nice report, thanks. What rule are you ACWing with?

shigure - The American OB was largely based on the newly painted collection of a player who in the end couldn't attend. But since I got the word late I didn't mess with the printed sheets. For the Japanese I just went by memory which heavies were there. @thedreadnought - I ran an interesting night action with a pair of the old battlewagons against two Japanese battlecruisers. A much more balanced action that was also exciting. I might trot it out again now that we have a different group and a less labor-intensive set of rules. warchariot - The ACW rules are Steam and Black Powder by Neil Stokes. They were published but I've never seen them in a shop outside of Minnesota. Very playable with an excellent feel for the period IMHO.

What were you playing before, out of curiosity?

Thanks for the information, we use Black Power by Warlord for these time periods. Have played many ACW rules in the past.

Dreadnought, I own the complete Admiralty Trilogy so we played that a lot for a while, but mostly played SeeKrieg 5. While I certainly enjoyed the extra detail and consider myself a closet Rivet Counter, we never got done with a game and could never play an action with more than 3 ships per player. Less if they were "big ones." I moved away, they still play SK5 occasionally, but I look forward to the chance to introduce them to NT in two weeks.

I don't have time to play 8+ hours or come back to finish a game. We like quick and easy to remember at this point in our lives.
