Hi all, I've just purchased Colonial Battlefleet and Man vs Machine and I was wondering. Who sells miniatures for BSG? Which company has the most complete line and which company's miniatures are compatible with other company's miniatures?I'm thinking I'll start with the 1st war stuff and expand from there. Thanks Jim

Know Reading well. Lived in Oley for 7 years. Have you linked up with the local gaming group, RAW (Reading Area Wargamers)? They play mostly historical, but some do space ships.

Thanks, I am a member of RAW and I know who plays space ships. I am going to send him a e-mail and pick his brain.
Joe is this you?

I think space gaming gets into you, not you into space gaming...

I've pretty much always liked the original BSG and you know how some of the RAW guys get about non historical stuff. If I had to say when the bug bit me was at Fall-In. Any opinions onstudio bergstrom? I'm mainly interested in old BSG and so far as I can tell they have the figures, but as this is new to me are any of the Fox stuff original BSG?
Thanks Jim

Jim, I can't comment on the Bergstrom, everything I have is Ravenstar/Fox. The line includes both the old and new series ships, including civilians. Drop Jim Fox an e-mail and he will send you photos. You can see some of mine here: www.flickr.com/photos/cold_steel/sets/72157623364755222/Check with Chad. He has a lot of spaceships and I think he has some BSG. He plays mainly Full Thrust (cough, hack, gag) though. I won't make Cold Wars, but plan on running a game or 2 at Hcon. Joe

I just purchased Colonial Battlefleet and have read the rules twice. Seems very clear, just have to put it to use. The confussion I find is in the ship data cards, basically the ship class names. Which I inderstand because of copy write laws etc.. Hard figure out what is an Galactica or Mercury Class Battlestar.
Even a shadow profile of the ship would help ease us new guys to which ship stat card is what ship. Love the system lay out thus far and Hangar 18's stuff looks fantastic

Just look in the sticky thread "Suggested Miniatures" that should answer all your questions. If you still have some post them here.
Galactica = Acropolis class BTW if I recall correctly. Warchariot could tell you for sure.

The Development Notes that came with the download also has the full cross-reference list.

I believe those are the .xls files my computer cant currently open until I head to a wifi hot spot. Phone browser cant handle it, the two class names helps for the time being. I will work on opening those files later. Got a ton of rules to read and print out.
